Andy Bichel - Popular and recently retired Australian and Queensland cricket player, Andy is always a welcome visitor at the hospital and fundraising events. A natural story teller, Andy generously shared his personal experiences as a legendary Queensland and Australian cricketer at the Foundation's inaugural golf day in September last year... as well as his ‘unexpected' golfing coaching skills with the lucky team that snared him as their 4th! Visit Andy's website at http://www.andybichel.com.au

Ben Ikin - Channel 9 Rugby League commentator. Former Rugby League player Ben Ikin has been a part of the Foundation family for many years. Armed with a great sense of humour and a big heart, Ben helps out with events including judging at the Royal Children's Hospital Christmas ‘Party Day' as well as braving the Brekky Creek waters to raise vital funds through the Swim4Kids campaign.

Darren Lockyer - Brisbane Broncos captain. Darren has always been generous with his time by visiting sick kids in hospital and taking a genuine interest in their stories. Over the last year, Darren has also volunteered his profile to be painted by talented reality artist Nikyla Amanda Smith. With the original larger-than-life portrait commanding an amazing $21,000, subsequent sales of Limited Edition prints has brought this fundraising total to more than $63,000.

Jimmy Maher - Inspired more than 10 years ago by young cancer patient Jim Bazley at the Royal Children's Hospital, recently retired Australian and Queensland cricket player, Jimmy Maher shared the limelight at his own tribute lunch last year. While celebrating a highly successful ten year career at Australian and Queensland level, Jimmy paid tribute to kids like Jim Bazley by raising more than $20,000 for neuroblastoma research.

Network Ten personalities have come to the party to work wonders for sick kids on so many occasions. Last year Puzzle Play helped open the Wonder Factory in April and followed up with hosting the very popular annual Teddy Bear's Picnic much to the delight of young patients. Hot on their heels, Pip Russell from Totally Wild fame had generously given her time by staging the Spring Carnival at the hospital. Smiles were the order of the day as sick kids were delighted by face painters, clowns and even furry creatures. And when the kids thought it couldn't get any better...thanks Pip for hosting the best Kids' Christmas Party ever!

Our thanks also to Network Ten's Bill McDonald and Georgie Lewis who each year fearlessly blaze a trail for their respective teams up the virtual face of Mt Everest to raise funds for vital research.

Thanks Stone Brothers Racing team for generously nominating the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation as your 2009 charity of choice. Through key sponsor SP tools, vital funds for research were raised in 2008 through the Bathurst promotion with the Foundation logo taking pride of place on one of the Ford V8 supercars.

Wayne Bennett - legendary NRL coach. Wayne is well-known for his passion for kids and had no hesitation in allowing his dashing good looks to be captured by artist Nikyla Amanda Smith. Completed in late 2008, the final portrait will be sure to attract interest amongst Broncos' and Bennett fans to raise funds for vital research.

Olympic swimming gold medallist, Leisel Jones, and Brisbane Broncos players, Karmichael Hunt, and Michael Ennis were ambassadors for the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation's 2008 fit4fun program. Thanks to the support of Queensland Firebirds netball player, Janelle Lawson, this fundraising program which actively promotes healthy lifestyles was launched for another successful year at West End State School in 2008.
