How We Help

The Kids Christmas Appeal works wonders for sick kids by raising funds for paediatric equipment and services in regional hospitals and areas across Queensland, as well as groundbreaking medical research to find faster diagnoses, better treatments and ultimately cures for childhood illnesses.

Did you know the Royal Children’s Hospital:

  • Cares for Queensland’s sickest kids
  • Treats every child newly diagnosed with cancer in Queensland
  • Treats more than 30,000 kids each year, with more than half of young patients admitted to the Royal Children’s Hospital from regions outside the Brisbane metropolitan area
  • On average 5 children every week are transported to the Royal Children’s Hospital for specialist care

Did you know the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation:

  • Funds vital medical research breakthroughs that help all kids across Queensland
  • Funded the creation of a world-class telemedicine program that gives sick kids in regional Queensland access to Brisbane specialists in their own communities – saving the time and trauma of large commutes to the city
  • Contributed more than $300,000 to children’s wards in regional hospitals across Queensland in 2008, providing vital paediatric equipment and training of staff in regional hospitals
