Organise an afternoon tea, morning tea, lunch or drinks with your sporting group, community group, a school group or workmates. Bring goodies and ask people to make a donation.
Have a garage sale, flea market or auction. Ask your friends and family to donate goods to sell.
Get together with a couple of friends and do a collection during a local sporting fixture. We can supply collection tins however you will need to organise a permit and complete the necessary paperwork (give us a call if you're unsure of what to do).
Have a Sports Challenge with friends or between local teams. Ask people to sponsor you for the number of runs, goals or tries. Charge for tickets, and organise a sweepstake or raffle.
Dancing is a lot of fun! Organise a dance party with a latin, rock n roll or ‘dancing with the stars' theme. Ask a local dance instructor to donate their services in exchange for promotion. Charge for tickets and donate the proceeds.
Group expeditions can be sponsored and ticketed. Plus they're a great team building exercise. You could go as far as the Sunshine Coast, or just to the local pub!
Brighten someone's day. Buy and sell flowers, heart balloons or sweets. Don't forget to tell people the funds raised will work wonders for sick kids.
Organise your own fun run, or participate in a locally organised event, such as the Foundation's Running4Research fun run. Seek sponsorship or donate the entry fees.
Have a golf day. Test your techniques on the green and charge for the tickets or donate an amount for each point of the final score.
Organise a guessing competition. Guess the number of lollies in the jar, the weight of your manager or CEO, or the baby in the photo guessing competition.
Have a free dress day, hat day or crazy hair day at your workplace, school or group. Pick a theme, make a donation, or "charge" double for people who don't get into the swing of things!
Organise a competition. Juggling, karaoke, skipping, paper aeroplanes, sprints, three-legged sack races, wheelbarrow races, or 10km walk. The options are endless! Charge an entry fee. Entrants can also organise other staff to sponsor them (much like a "walk-a-thon").
Have a raffle and get the prize donated. That way 100% of the funds raised will go to the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation.
Organise a lucky dip. Ask friends, family, staff or team mates to buy items for the lucky dip, or seek out donated goods. Ask people to pay a fee to enter the lucky dip.
Have a beauty day. Ask a local masseuse or beautician to come to your office or workplace for a couple of hours and donate their services in return for the opportunity to hand out brochures. Charge staff a nominal fee for a foot massage, head massage or manicure and donate the proceeds.
