An Everlasting Gift

Mrs Evelyn Hay was a very special lady who wanted to keep helping sick children long after she passed away.

Mrs Hay's final gift to the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation continues to work wonders for sick and injured children. This gift in her Will has made, and will continue to make a difference!

Mrs Hay's Bequest is funding the work of Dr David Coman, who is implementing a screening test for newborn babies that detects inherited liver disease caused by various metabolic disorders. If left undiagnosed, these disorders can lead to serious, permanent disability and even death.

With her passing, Mrs Hay has given the gift of life to future generations of babies from all over Queensland, Northern NSW and even South-East Asia.

What a priceless gift!!!

Betty Wakely-Bunkell was a compassionate woman - and her generosity of spirit lives on.

Betty left a generous bequest to the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation that is funding research into juvenile diabetes.

Betty's gift is also providing palliative care via teleconferencing to terminally ill children and their families who live in rural areas of Queensland. This wonderful service provides vital support to children and their families when they need it most. It helps to make their journey easier - and that truly makes a difference in their lives.

Betty kept our sick kids in her heart and her legacy continues to help countless children.

We are honoured by this compassionate woman's generosity.
