History

The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation was established under the Hospitals' Foundations Act 1982, under a Board of Directors, and became fully operational on the 30th of September 1986. The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation was established to support the development of the Royal Children's Hospital and the then blossoming research culture that would continue to provide wonderful outcomes for sick and injured children.

The Foundation receives no government funding and is entirely dependent on community support, through donations, community fundraising, bequests, volunteer support and corporate partnerships. The Foundation has developed through the kindness and generosity of the community and is Queensland's most dynamic foundation, with initiatives reaching out to children and families all over Queensland and beyond.
