Viruses

The Sir Albert Sakzewski Virus Research Centre (SASVRC) is internationally known for its research into paediatric infectious diseases, especially viruses.

The researchers, fondly known as the ‘Bug Detectives', have increased the number of diagnostic tests from 12 to 60 in just eight years.

Thanks to their wonderful work, many life threatening bugs can now be detected and treated more quickly, and many young lives are saved every year.
