Queensland Police: Noosa Triple 000 12hr Mountain Bike challenge
From Tuesday, 16 February 2010 -  8:00am
To Saturday, 17 April 2010 - 8:00pm

Sunshine Coast District police are currently coordinating a charity challenge event to support the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation through the police fundraising initiative Operation Challenge4Kids. This fundraising campaign raises money for oncology research to help Queensland kids battling cancer at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Operation Challenge4Kids asks Queensland Police and employees of the Queensland Police Service to take on a personal challenge to raise funds for sick kids who face enormous personal challenges every day when they are in hospital.

The Noosa Triple 000 Mountain Bike Challenge will take place on Saturday 17th April from 8am - 8pm, starting at Pomona State School on the Sunshine Coast.

We are currently seeking participants for this unique mountain bike challenge to raise funds to work wonders for sick kids. This event is not just for Queensland Police – anyone can sign up to work wonders for sick kids!

Registration is only $60.Jersey.JPG

You can also buy a unique once-off jersey (pictured right) in support of the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation for only $80 (details below)

Event Details:

Based in the historic town of Pomona (home of the Noosa Enduro 100km MTB race, outside Noosa) Sunshine Coast District police will be coordinating a 12 hour mountain bike ‘challenge’ open to the general public. The event will be open to solo riders and teams of 2, 3, 4 and 6 with each rider or team completing as many laps of the 12km circuit as possible within the 12 hours.

This event will be appropriate in all weather conditions, so it will be on come rain or shine. This event is accessible to all levels of rider from the entry level to the advanced rider level with some fast single tracks, wide fire breaks, no major climbs and plenty of shaded areas.

This will be a challenging but incredibly rewarding mountain biking event and a great way to participate in an event that will help Queensland’s sick kids!

Location Details:

Trail_photo_with_two_riders_1.jpgThe event will be based from Pomona State School, which is located about 150 metres from the trail head.

This location has plenty of space for camping on Friday and Saturday night, as well amenities, and is situated near the centre of Pomona (with access to supermarket, pubs, cafes, bakery etc). Local community organisations have generously offered to provide limited catering, but we strongly recommend you bring your own personal supplies for the full 12 hour event.

We will have our local bike shop 'Cognition' that will provide mechanical assistance and exhibit bike gear etc. There will be sponsors and exhibitors from the biking industry as well as a display from the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service.

Are you willing to take a challenge to help sick kids like Aaron face their challenges every day? Sign Up Now!
