Orthotic Solutions and the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation are supporting a spectacular ball to promote awareness of the needs of young children with cerebral palsy, and to raise funds to assist in the purchase of standing equipment to improve the lives and health of these children.
The Stand Tall Ball Story...
Cerebral palsy affects one in five hundred children in our community and around the world. The abilities of each child with cerebral palsy will vary widely with some children becoming independent in all areas of development and others who will require high levels of assistance. Many children will not be able to develop the ability to stand and walk. These children benefit greatly from the use of special equipment which can support them in standing for periods of time each day.
Sadly this equipment is not easily available to children and there is no government scheme, and limited charitable groups to assist families to purchase these expensive and often essential standing aides.
The Stand Tall Ball will be a fun and fabulous night where you will be assisting to raise funds to enable some children to ‘Stand Tall’. At home, in school or in their communities, playing with friends, doing their homework, or even eating breakfast, the children we assist will be able to feel the pleasure of standing up on their own two feet.
