In late August, 18 intrepid trekkers will trek the Great Wall of China, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Every step they take and every dollar they raise will help the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation fund research into burns treatments. This research will help kids like Carlton, who bravely faces ongoing treatments after being badly burnt as a 7-month-old. His treatment has included 70 operations in 13 years.
The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation is running the 11-day epic adventure in conjunction with World Expeditions. Each trekker pays for their own travel and accommodation, and commits to raising at least $3,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation to fund groundbreaking research into burns treatments. In China, the trekkers will visit a local hospital where burns specialists are working with our own Royal Children’s Hospital doctors to improve treatments and outcomes for children dealing with burns injuries.
