Coffee Club Ball raises $250,000 for sick kids

The 2011 Coffee Club Charity Ball has raised $250,000 for children’s cancer research at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

More than 1,200 guests attended the Arabian Nights – Secrets of the Desert themed event at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 16 September 2011.
The funds raised will allow the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation to continue investing in vital paediatric oncology research.

The Coffee Club director, John Lazarou, said the charity ball had been a great success and would provide some much-needed funds for this important cause.
"Thanks to the generosity and goodwill of everyone at this year’s ‘Arabian Nights – Secrets of the Desert’ Charity Ball, we will be able to make a positive difference to local cancer research," he said.

Guests at the event were treated to a four-course meal, snake dancing, and the opportunity to share in a range of auction items and prizes, including a Harley Davidson and two Emirates business class tickets to anywhere in the world.

The Coffee Club Charity Ball is held biennially. Congratulations to The Coffee Club and the organising committee for another fantastic event, and thanks to the generosity of all who attended for helping us work wonders for sick kids.
