Brisbane charity ball raises $250,000 for the Royal Children's Hospital and children's cancer research
More than a quarter of a million dollars has been raised for child cancer research following The Coffee Club’s annual charity ball on Friday.
The ‘Journey to the Wild’ Charity Ball raised $250,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, which supports children with cancer.
The Coffee Club director, John Lazarou, said the charity ball had been a great success and would provide some much-needed funds for this important cause.
"Thanks to the generosity and goodwill of everyone at this year’s ‘Journey to the Wild’ Charity Ball, we will be able to make a positive difference to local cancer research," he said.
"The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation funds groundbreaking medical research and equipment in order to find faster diagnoses, better treatments and ultimately cures for childhood illnesses. We feel very privileged to be working with such a fantastic organisation."
The charity ball, which featured auctions and raffles, was attended by more than 1200 people at the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre on Friday, October 16.
