T-Rex visits the Wonder Factory

Patients and their families were treated to a visit from a baby Tyrannosaurus Rex, one of the stars of the international hit show Walking With Dinosaurs, at the Royal Children's Hospital on 11 April.

Baby T Rex - not exactly a baby at two metres tall and five metres long from his nose to the end of his tail! - delighted kids, parents and volunteers alike as he stomped and roared through the Wonder Factory.

Although his impressive teeth and lifelike movements were a little bit scary, many of the kids were brave enough to step up and tickle him under the chin, which he loved!

Having made plenty of new friends, he was happy to stand still for photos with little patients and their siblings and parents.

The Walking With Dinosaurs Arena Spectacular has enchanted audiences around the world with its extraordinarily lifelike animatronic dinosaurs.

Thanks to all those involved for bringing this amazing experience to the Wonder Factory and the patients of the Royal Children's Hospital!

The Wonder Factory is an interactive entertainment room, funded by the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation and staffed all year by Foundation volunteers, where sick kids and their brothers and sisters can play in a safe and happy environment.

Here, kids can participate in arts and crafts, play computer games, have their face painted, meet new friends and much more. The Wonder Factory also enjoys visits from famous friends of the Foundation every year, and organises regular fun events and activities.
