The front lawn was transformed into a flower-and-teddy-filled picnic ground this week when the Royal Children's Hospital hosted the annual Teddy Bear’s Picnic.
Woolworths staff were on hand to give out teddy bears to eager young patients and their siblings. And for all those kids who couldn’t make it to the picnic, Woolworths
staff toured the hospital wards so that no-one would be left empty-handed.
After a delicious morning tea, the kids were treated to a clown show by Dagwood & Peebo, who captivated their audience with amazing tricks, fun games and wonderful balloon creations.
The Teddy Bear’s Picnic marks the launch of the 2012 Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Hospital Appeal, which helps the Children’s Health Foundation to work wonders for sick kids by raising much-needed funds for respiratory and nutrition research.
A “beary” big thank you to Gladland Flowers, Tip Top and Pine Valley for providing the picnic essentials: flowers, food and of course teddy bears! Thanks also to clowns Dagwood & Peebo, and Woolworths, as well as Foundation staff and volunteers who helped bring smiles and laughter into the lives of our very special patients.
