Woolworths celebrated the launch of the 2010 Fresh Food Kids Hospital Appeal on Wednesday 18 August with a Teddy Bear’s Picnic on the front lawn of the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Kids from the Hospital and local preschool were invited to the picnic, hosted by Totally Wild’s Pip Russell, and were entertained by Magic Glen.
Tip Top Bakeries generously donated a yummy morning tea and the kids were each given their very own teddy bear courtesy of Pine Valley and Gladland Flowers.
The national Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Hospital Appeal runs for eight weeks, with stores in Queensland and northern New South Wales raising money to work wonders for sick kids at the Royal Children’s Hospital. From 23 August to 17 October, stores will be running various fundraising activities including raffles, sausage sizzles, golf days,
trivia nights and talent nights.

Back by popular demand, the ‘Win Free Groceries for a Year’ raffle will be running in every store, giving customers a chance to win one of seven $10,000 Woolworths Essential gift cards. Tickets are $2 and will be on sale from 20 September, so make sure you’re in the draw!
An exciting range of merchandise will also be sold in stores including car air fresheners for $2, fun temporary tattoos for $3, and a range of hand-shaped highlighter collectibles for $3.
Over the past 24 years, the Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Hospital Appeal has raised more than $17.5 million for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation. This year, they are hoping to raise a staggering $2 million which will be invested into ground breaking research that will lead to faster diagnoses, better treatments and ultimately cures.
