What is the '7 Wonders Challenge'?
From 23 September – 7 October, 2011, 18 intrepid travellers will take on the challenge of trekking the Himalayas, Nepal to raise funds for the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation, Brisbane.
Each participant will pay for their travel and accommodation costs and commit to raising at least $3,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation to fund groundbreaking research at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Each year, the Royal Children’s Hospital cares for more than 30,000 children from all over Queensland, northern New South Wales and beyond. Through the support of the community, the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation works wonders for sick kids by investing in groundbreaking research leading to faster diagnoses, better treatments and ultimately cures for childhood illnesses.
Who participates?
The '7 Wonders Challenge' trip to Nepal in September 2011 can take up to 18 participants. We are seeking motivated individuals who want to take part in an adventure challenge while raising money to help sicks at the same time. Beginner and first time trekkers are welcome - all you need is a moderate level of fitness. If you love to travel and experience exciting destinations and cultures and have a passion to help sick kids, then the '7 Wonders Challenge' is for you!
Who benefits?
The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation: receives the funds raised to invest in groundbreaking research being undertaken at the Royal Children’s Hospital to find faster diagnoses, better treatments and ultimately cures for childhood illnesses.
Sick Kids: can be on the road to recovery sooner thanks to the work of the researchers at the Royal Children’s Hospital.
YOU: get the opportunity to take on the challenge of trekking the Himalayas, sightseeing and experiencing the culture of Nepal while working wonders for sick kids.
