Stacey's Diary

Sometimes Aaron needs some alone time, sometimes we need cuddle time, sometimes we don't know what we need.

For one and a quarter hours Aaron was crying in extreme pain and all I could do was hold him as tight as I could... and Scottie was with him as well rubbing his leg and reassuring him and being an awesome dad and husband.

No one can prepare you for anything like this and no one can tell you what it's like to go through.

I remember just after Aaron's diagnosis, Scottie telling me how helpless he felt... how unfair it was that Aaron was so young...and that if he could, he'd swap places with him in a minute.

Hold your loved ones a little more and a little tighter and find your own silver linings each day.

I stood at the door with my head resting against it feeling completely helpless listening to him scream. It was horrible but then through it all just as I was about to go in I heard him say to himself "I can do this, I can do this, I can do anything".

I am very proud of Aaron. He has a strong heart and soul and we are fighting this and he will win without a doubt.

  3. Hi Aaron! I just recieved a newsletter letting me know about your story. You are an incredible little man, and incredibly brave. I was very moved by your story, and i do know how hard it can be spending so much time at the hospital. I had twins last year and one of them, Grace, has a lot of complications, so we do spend a lot of time at the childrens hospital. I really do appreciate how hard you are fighting, keep on going Aaron! I also loved the wonderful photos of your gorgeous family too. You are a very lucky man to have such a lovely and supportive family. I just wanted you to know that i have also organised a monthly donation to the foundation on your behalf too! I hope this makes you smile. We know only too well that the more support the foundation recieves, the less time it will take to find cures to diseases. And my twins, Lily and Grace, and I are thinking of you and your family. Much love to you all, Paul, Maree, Lily and Grace Ross

  12. Hi Aaron. Your Mum and Dad must be so proud of you. We have been supporting the RCHF for many years now. In 1991 our eldest son was a patient there because of menigitis caused by a disease now everyone is immunisised against. Being in hospital can be hard its so great to be home to sleep in your own bed. Do not worry if your Mum and Dad hug you heaps, it what we parents do. Best wishes and keep on fighting.
