The Wonder Factory provides a world of fun for young patients, their families and visitors.
The Wonder Factory is an interactive entertainment room with an emphasis on kids being in control of what is happening to them – a welcome change from their daily hospital lives.

As a Wonder Factory volunteer you will facilitate activities including arts and crafts, face painting, interactive competitions, video games, board games, karaoke, role play and celebrity visits.

For those kids who can’t make it out of their beds, the Wonder Factory volunteers take the fun of the Wonder Factory right to their bedsides! The volunteers visit the patients in the wards for games, puzzles, playdough, storytelling and more.

Wonder Factory volunteers can also reach kids’ bedsides by creating quality and fun children’s programming to be broadcast to the wards via our internal television station – Wonder Factory TV. If you haven’t had any experience we’ll train you how to use the equipment and give you tips on how to present to camera. You never know – you might be a star in the making!

You can be sure that you will not only bring joy to kids’ lives by volunteering at the Wonder Factory, but you are guaranteed to have loads of fun in the process!

Location: Level 1 Coles Building

Operating hours:

Weekdays: 10:00am – 12:00pm, 3:00pm – 5:00pm and 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Weekends: 10:00am – 12:00pm, 12:30pm – 5:00pm.
A variety of volunteer shift times are available during these hours
