All funds from the Recycling for Kids program are donated centrally to the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation in Brisbane. The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation (RCHF) then invests in the local community by distributing 50% to local hospitals and 50% to medical research projects and hospital services at the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane. All funds are distributed to the areas of greatest need, and the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation determines priorities through a competitive grants process. The Grants Committee reviews grants and distributes funds accordingly. The RCHF Grants Committee then ensures the accountability of the funds and provides a report back to the Foundation. The Royal Children's Hospital Foundation will provide all Recycling for Kids participants with a detailed written report on where the funds are spent. This enables the mine sites to inform their staff, suppliers, community and other stakeholders of how they are working wonders for sick kids.
