Welcome to this week's edition of Watch this Space.
I am pleased to announce two new members to the Hospital Services Team.
Danuta Baniecka will be joining us as WF Admin Assistant and will commence in her role on Wednesday, 26 October and Kristy Tunstall who is taking up WF Supervisor role on Thursdays and Fridays will commence this Thursday, 13 October.
Both Danuta & Kristy have been volunteering in the Wonder Factory, Kristy since December 2006 and Danuta along with volunteering in the Foundation and doing wonderful work on our raffle tickets since July this year.
Please join me in welcoming Kristy and Danuta to the team.
It with much sadness I advise you all that JJ has tendered her resignation to pursue other career options. Her last day with the Foundation will be Friday 21 October.
JJ started as a volunteer in September 2008 and in February 2009 was successful in gaining the role of Wonder Factory Supervisor and in January 2010 moved into the Hospital Services Coordinator role.
JJ has been a strong member of our team full of passion and dedication for our cause and values. During her 2 ½ years she has been a part of a team that has provided entertainment and distraction for the kids with
32,000 kids visits to the WF
51,000 ward interactions
10,300 times toys, games and movies have been borrowed
She has supported the business through
124 tours/events approved
Provided 314 volunteers to 53 events & on the ground assistance
JJ’s commitment and passion shone through in all she did for the patients and their families and supporting our business. Her bubbly laugh and big smile will be missed by many.
I will certainly miss JJ she has provided me a great deal of support on all levels.
Please join me in wishing her all the very best as she begins the next step of her journey.

When storing the controllers for the gaming consoles, ensure that the first wrap of the cord is not tight as this can result in the cord becoming damaged and the controller will need to be replaced. Hold the first few inches of the lead straight and then wrap the rest of the cord around the controller. Of course, the controller will have been wiped with an alcohol wipe before being put away! Please ask your Supervisor to demonstrate if you are unsure.
