National Volunteer Week Wrap Up

It was good to see those who could make it at the Royal Children’s Hospital Thank You morning tea.  We had a number of speakers and as General Manager, Hospital Services I felt a small lump in my throat and much pride listening to the genuine, sincere and heart felt thank you from Peter Steer - CEO Children’s Health Services Queensland, Linda Hardy - Acting Operating Chief Officer, Karenlee Spillane - CEO RCHF, Sharon Atkinson – Parent Aide Unit, Anne Donovan – Baby Liaison Nurse and Robyn Penny – Community Child Health.

I also attended RCHF Annual Donor Thank You breakfast this week where again our services and the work you do was praised ever so highly by Colin Ryan the Chairman of our Board and Karenlee.

For those that were unable to attend the Thank You morning tea I hope this helps show how much the services we provide are appreciated and valued not just by the patients and their families but by Qld Health from the CEO through to the nurses and wards staff you deal with every day.  We can’t provide these valuable services without YOU our volunteers.

So again THANK YOU!!!!

Useless Fact of the Week......

When glass breaks, the cracks move faster than 3,000 miles per hour. To photograph the event, a camera must shoot at a millionth of a second!
