Wonder Factory Administration Assistant Needed

Casual position – 20 hours a week (5 days x 4 hours)

Are you a dynamic administration professional? Would you like to match your skills with your desire to work wonders for sick kids?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic administration professional in the Wonder Factory. The Wonder Factory is an interactive entertainment room, including activities such as arts and crafts, face painting, competitions, video games, board games, karaoke, celebrity visits and has its very own television channels. Reporting to the Wonder Factory Manager you will provide administrative support to the Wonder Factory team.

This casual position requires someone available Monday to Friday for 4 hours a day, a total of 20 hours a week.

Key responsibilities of this position

  • Operating Pay Global database to produce :

o        Volunteer rosters

o        Maintain volunteer details

o        Run volunteer reports

  • Manage forms and administrative processes
  • Manage the entertainment services emails

Comings and Goings

This week the Wonder Factory crew has many new volunteers to welcome. Kirsten Moy, Alison Fergusson, Jessica Rose, Kate Boyd, Cherelle Slater, Hailey Ward, Sam Foley, Ella Gordon, Elyse Fanning, Caitlin Ranft and Bartholomew Cotterell have all become members of the Wonder Factory crew. Please make sure you are wearing your yellow name badges and make them feel welcome.

This week the Wonder Factory Crew said goodbye to Serah Parente and Sarah O'Brien. We would also like to congratulate Sarah O’Brien who is expecting her first child. No doubt we will see lots of photos when proud Grandmother to be Gina comes in to volunteer on Monday mornings.

Anzac day Monday April 26 and Labour Day Monday May 3 2010!

Please note that the normal roster will not be in operation on these Public holidays. Paramount  and Marvel Comics is bringing Iron Man 2 to theatres on May 7th 2010 in the USA.  They've secured the OPENING NIGHT in Australia, which means YOU will be one of the first to see it on April 29th 2010.

Wonder Factory volunteer Jenny and her husband Peter are hosting an afternoon of fundraising on Sunday 16th May from 2:30pm at Golden Spur Court in Camp Mountain. All proceeds will come to support the RCHF. Tickets are $50 pp and will include drinks and food. There will be an auction, prize donated by Travelscene Samford and various raffle prizes on the day. They are also hoping to have some guest speakers and surprises on the day. RUNNING4RESEARCH

 Running4Research is a fun run held at Roma Street Parklands with 1.5km, 5km and 10km options which is open to the public. Last year it attracted 800 participants from all over Brisbane, and raised more than $50,000. To keep our running costs at a minimum, we need a large number of volunteers to assist with jobs like on-course direction marshalls, water stops, registrations etc. Feel free to pass on information to family/friends who may want to volunteer with you, or even get a team together and participate!  For more information please check out the Special Projects and Events Page.

Proud Award Goes to Zillmere Refugee Clinic

A big congratulations goes to volunteer Beryl Hansen who along with staff at the Zillmere Refugee clinic won the PROUD Award which is a peer voted internal QLD Health Award.

Beryl and staff received the award on Tuesday.
