Welcome to this week's edition of Watch this Space.
Last year’s state-wide ‘Win Free Groceries for a Year’ raffle was a huge success, raising more than $255,300 for the Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Hospital Appeal.
Due to its popularity and overwhelming success, this year we ran this enormous raffle again, but on a bigger scale!
The Prize
Instead of raffling off seven prizes, this year we’re giving customers the chance to win one of 13 x $10,000 Woolworths Essentials Gift Cards which can be redeemed at any Woolworths, BIG W or selected Caltex outlets. And every store in Region 9 and 10 will be selling tickets for the same prize.
This raffle had the potential to raise an additional $650,000 for this year’s Appeal if all 325,000 tickets were sold. We are pleased to announce that the raffle has been extremely successful with ticket sales of $569,492!!! After costs we’re looking at approx $425,000 pure profit to go towards working wonders for sick kids.
The raffle will be drawn: Tuesday, 18 October 2011
So a BIG THANK YOU to all the volunteers helping sort tickets, this is a massive task but a well worth one!
If you’re available for any length of time during the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm we desperately need some extra assistance to sort Woolworth’s raffle tickets. This task will be ongoing until the end of October so any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Theresia if you can assist. This week we welcome Steven, Kendall, Stephanie, Dominic, Poh Wan, Claire, Barbara and Jennifer to the Wonder Factory. We also welcome Benjamin to the Book Bunker.
When interacting with the kids using craft please remember that the craft materials are an expense to the Foundation and are not for volunteer use.
Last week we had Surrealism for Kids on tour in the Wonder Factory. The Gallery of Modern Art provided wonderful free activities inspired by surrealist games. In this photo Makayla shows us her beautiful masterpieces created during a Max Ernst inspired surrealist collage activity.
