It’s that time of year again folks. All volunteers must complete the yearly Fire Awareness and Manual Handling P&P updates by 24 September 2011.

To ensure that this is accomplished we are offering two sessions running outside of rostered shift times.

Level 5 Woolworths Building
Royal Children’s Hospital

21 September  2011

Education Centre Lecture Room
Level 5 Woolworths Building
Royal Children’s Hospital

If you cannot attend either of these sessions there will opportunities for you to complete this before or after your usual rostered shift. Please speak with you Supervisor to make arrangements.

This training is mandatory and is a legal requirement.  If you have not completed your training please speak to your Supervisor as any volunteers that have not completed the training by 24 September will be taken off the roster.

There are registration sheets for these sessions at your sign-in area.  Please add your name to the session that you will be attending.

Jodi and Louise

It is with mixed emotions I advise you Jodi Stewart & Louise Tahiraj are leaving their positions in the Wonder Factory but it is with happiness I advise you they are not going too far they are moving into new roles within the Foundation.

Jodi is moving into the Marketing Team as Administration Assistant Marcomms and Louise is joining the Fundraising Administration Team as Fundraising Administration Assistant.

Jodi has played a vital role in the Wonder Factory for the last three years and I am sure (actually I know) she will be missed by the volunteers and the families.

Louise’s time with us has been short but sweet, in her role she has provided vital administrative support for the Wonder Factory volunteers.

I’d like to thank Jodi & Louise for all their hard work, their passion, enthusiasm, sense of humour and fun and their commitment to our value in everything we do the kids come first.

Please join me in wishing them both all the very best as they take the next step in their journey.

Comings and Goings

This week we welcome Pasandi, Ashlee, Annabel, Jasmin and Mursal to the Wonder Factory.

Volunteer Tip of the Week

All visitors must be announced at reception and never brought directly to an office.  If a visitor presents themselves at the information desk, volunteers should always phone the Foundation or, if possible, the staff member the visitor has requested to see, prior to bringing them up to the Lady Norman Wing.

Photo of the Week

Last Wednesday the Wonder Factory hosted another fantastic teddy Bears Picnic. A great time was had by all. The children at the Royal Children's Hospital all received morning tea and a teddy bear. They were entertained by the incredible Magic Glen. A BIG thanks to the wonderful volunteers who helped make this day a huge success.
