Welcome to this week's edition of Watch this Space. Please take note of our operating hours throughout the Easter break.
Volunteering is a selfless act for which the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation (RCHF) is eternally grateful. One of our longest serving volunteers is sadly leaving the Foundation.
Mr Colin Ryan AM has provided voluntary support for the benefit of sick Queensland children and their families for almost thirty years. In the early years it was as the Chairman of the Hospital Board, and since 1985 as a founding member of the RCHF Board and later Chairman.
RCHF staff would like to sincerely thank Mr Ryan for his decades of dedication and we wish him and his wife Islay well for the future.
Long-standing RCHF Deputy Chairman Mr Kerry Prior has assumed the position of Acting Chairman until such a time as a new permanent Chair is appointed. Mr Prior and the rest of our Board will continue to help work wonders for sick kids.
On Monday, 18 April we will be holding our Easter party and we would like some extra Wonder Factory volunteer assistance to make sure it all goes smoothly. If you’re available from 9:30am to 12:30pm and you would like to help us with the fun and games please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it so we can add your name to the roster.
Over the Easter period the Wonder Factory will be operating from 10:00am-2:00pm.

Many of you will know Coen and his family from their time here at the RCH and also as the face of our Volunteer Week invites and guest speaker a few years ago. He is an amazing young man and we thought you might like to see this article on his latest achievements.

This week we welcome Paul to the Wonder Factory.
Whenever we have pet therapy or animal/reptile farms visit the hospital, ensure everyone that comes into contact with the animals/reptiles is advised to wash their hands after petting the animals or where available provide them with a "wet one".
Tuesday night volunteers Sean and Amy help Declan with his lego block creation.
