Get Involved

Weekly update, 5 December 2011

Welcome to this week's edition of Watch this Space.

Happy International Volunteering Day!

International Volunteer Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1985. International Volunteer Day is now celebrated worldwide with thousands of volunteers involved in a range of initiatives. International Volunteer Day will be celebrated on Monday 5th December and is now celebrated around the world as a day to recognise the contribution of volunteers in their communities. We would like to thank all of our wonderful volunteers for their time and efforts to help us work wonders for sick kids!

Comings and Goings

The Wonder Factory welcomes Tamika, Shirley, Shae, Freya, Kevin and Belinda!
The Information Desk welcomes Perry and Shayne!
The Book Bunker welcomes Patricia and Soheila!

Volunteer Tips of the Week

• Please ensure that when you register your unavailability in the Blue Volunteer leave diaries that you place your full name. For those of you that use the diary in the Wonder Factory please list your service as well. Thank you.
• All RCHF volunteer identification must be removed (aprons, lanyard and volunteer t-shirts) when visiting family or friends in the hospital. It is important that we adhere to our Policies and procedures in regards to professional boundaries by not creating confusion when RCHF volunteers visit wards/hold children etc outside their volunteer roster.
• Please be reminded that the Parents Lounge internet is to be used by parents and families visiting the hospital only and is not to be used by volunteers at anytime.
